The first film to be completely funded by Marvel itself, Iron Man's currently tearing up the box office and recieving well earned critical acclaim.
Over the three day opening weekend period, ol' Shell Head's generated an estimated $100.75 million - the 10th highest opening weekend ever and the second highest non-sequel debut of all time - second only to Spider Man. Worldwide, Tony Stark's alter-ego is looking to rack up an impressive $201 million to date.
A great and inspiring start for Marvel now it once again owns all its own character licenses. Expect big things from Marvel Studios over the next few years - we certainly do.               |
